CCIM can help companies automate their manufacturing processes
using either mass production methods (e.g. mould making) or
innovative mass customization methods.

Mass customization
Mass customization
is the use of flexible computer-aided
manufacturing systems to produce custom output. Those systems
combine the low unit costs of mass production processes with the
flexibility of individual customization. [wikipedia.com]

Typical industries that are now switching to to mass customization have business processes in which manual labor dictates the price of the end product.
Forced by problems of lacking experienced personel and loosing work to low-wage countries, more and more industries are trying to automate manual labour.
Specific industries have problems finding solution for automation, because they are producing complex uniquely shaped products. Examples are dental industries, orthopedics, medical aids.

To manufacture custom products at the costs of mass production processes, the following three basic components are needed:
* Data aquisition systems to collect parameters for each custom product (e.g. 3D digitizing techniques)
* Computer Aided Tools to convert these parameters into manufacturing data
* Production methods to produce custom shapes at low unit costs. (e.g. 3D printing, HS milling)

CCIM can advise companies on how to implement mass customization in their processes.
We have a wide range of experience on 3D digitizing techniques, a track record in development of dedicated CAD applications and we can advise you on many innovative production methods in the area of rapid prototyping, rapid tooling and rapid manufacturing.
